   • Text you actively select and save from a web page

   • When you actively use the region screenshot feature, the Extension processes screenshot data from the current page for downloading to your local device.

   • Number of history records to retain

2. Purpose of Data Usage

The above data is used solely to provide the core features of the Extension, including:

• Saving and displaying your bookmarked web pages
• Recording and displaying your recently visited web pages
• Saving selected text from web pages as notes
• Taking or downloading screenshots
• Remembering your extension settings

The Extension will not use the above data for advertising, user profiling, data sales, or any purpose unrelated to its functionality. It also does not upload your data to any cloud server.

3. Data Storage Location

By default, the Extension’s data is stored only in your browser, primarily in:

• Extension local storage: bookmarks, browsing history, notes, screenshot-related settings, etc.

• bimiseek.com page local storage: only after you visit the official website and actively use the sync feature will related bookmarks and some history records be written to the browser’s local storage under that domain, allowing you to view them on the official website.

Regarding network transmission:

• If you do not use the sync feature, the above data is not actively sent to our backend servers, nor is it used for advertising, profiling, or data sales.
• When you actively sync, data is transferred within your browser from the BimiHelper Extension to the bimiseek.com official website page and written to that page’s local storage; we do not upload synced data to our own or any third-party cloud databases/backend services.

4. Sync Feature Description

The Extension supports data synchronization with the bimiseek.com official website, so you can view and manage bookmarks on the website. The sync feature is only triggered when you actively click “Sync Data” or perform a related active operation.

The following data may be involved during sync:

• Bookmarked web page data
• Recent browsing history records

Sync method and storage location:

• Sync is performed within your browser: the BimiHelper Extension transfers data to the open bimiseek.com official website page, which then writes the data to its domain’s browser local storage (localStorage).
• Sync does not upload the above data to our backend servers or any third-party cloud databases.

The sync feature is only for the bimiseek.com official website:

• https://bimiseek.com

The Extension does not sync your data to any other third-party websites.

5. Permission Usage Description

The Extension may request the following browser permissions, with purposes as described:

• storage: used to save bookmarks, history, notes, and settings in the browser.
• tabs: used to read the current tab’s title, URL, and favicon for saving web pages and recording history.
• activeTab: used to perform bookmarking, screenshots, and other functions on the current page when you actively interact.
• contextMenus: used to save notes via the right-click menu after selecting text on a web page.
• downloads: used to download region screenshots you actively take to your local device.
• host permissions (http:/// , https:/// ): used to provide right-click text selection, screenshot prompts, and other helper functions on regular web pages.

6. Data Sharing and Third Parties

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal data.

Except in the following circumstances, we do not share your data with third parties:

• When you actively sync part of your data to the bimiseek.com official website page’s local storage.
• When required by applicable laws, regulations, regulatory authorities, or judicial bodies.
• When necessary to protect the legitimate rights and interests of users, the Extension, or the public, to the extent permitted by law.

7. How Users Can Manage and Delete Data

You can manage or delete your data through the following methods:

• Delete bookmarks, notes, or clear history within the Extension interface.
• Disable the history feature or adjust the number of history records retained in the Extension settings.
• Remove the Extension from your browser’s extension management page; after removal, the browser typically deletes the Extension’s local storage data.

8. Data Security

We make reasonable efforts to protect your data security and minimize unnecessary data processing. The Extension stores data locally in your browser by default; only when you actively sync is the data transferred within your browser to the bimiseek.com official website page.

Please note that no browser extension or network transmission can be guaranteed to be absolutely secure. We recommend that you do not save highly sensitive information such as passwords, ID numbers, bank card details, or private communications in web notes.

9. Children’s Privacy

The Extension is not intended for children under 13 years of age, nor does it knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information to the Extension, please contact us, and we will address it promptly.
